Anyone there?

So it has been a while since I’ve posted something on here. Wassup, wassup? I don’t even know if anyone’s reading my blog, but I’ll still post an avalanche of ideas. So get ready to be buried!

It feels kinda weird that for the first time, I won’t be going back to school this June. Having studied straight for the past 10 years or so, it feels kinda abnormal not to buy some school supplies, attend first day classes, or reunite with fellow batchmates during this time of the month. Instead, I find myself here inside this office, forever stuck in this work rut that I soon wish will somehow get exciting.

I am not saying that I miss school already; it is still way too early to say that. But I guess I will really come to that point when I’m finally tired of working just to survive. I mean, when you were studying back in elementary, you proceed to highschool upon graduation. Then after that, you embrace college. But what happens after?  I know the would-be-easy answer to this question is to get absorbed by the global workforce. Or settle down. Or pursue further studies. But for me, that still remains as a crazy question to ponder, even though people expect that I’m already mature enough to handle this complicated question. Heck, if only I have a choice, I could already be in Scotland right now pursuing graduate studies. Or perhaps in Paris touring the city of love with someone. Ahhh, it really feels so hard to be on this position. To not know what you really want, even though you’ve already finished and left school. Here at work, I’ve met some people who still don’t know what to do with their life even though they are already in their 30s. Scary but true. Imagine growing that old but you still feel lost. Now I’m equally scared to think that the same thing will happen to me.

Oh how bad I want my life to be so much more exciting! I have way too many dreams and way too high expectations for myself, and that really sucks especially when you know that those aspirations are quite far now from being realized. Some people say that I am still way too young to be serious about life, but I beg to differ. What if I am really meant for something else, and not here? What if the most suitable opportunities for me are already there, but I am still failing to see it? An hour or day spent here in the office could have been spent doing something more worthwhile, or something more fulfilling.

I am still holding on… and I’ll never stop being a dreamer.

So glad for Ivanovic’ triumph at the French Open. She really deserved the victory, although I initially rooted for the comeback queen rival, Dinara Safina. I just noticed that Dinara was quite temperamental during her matches just like her brother (but she is not into smashing rackets out of frustration, okey?). Anyway, Ivanovic is really beautiful as I observed it. Teehee. Her beauty is really different from Sharapova’s. Hers is not the typical fair, blonde-haired kind of beauty; instead, it was more of a stunning and captivating kind of beauty. And what a way for her to end the tournament by clinching her maiden grandslam and simultaneously clinching the coveted #1 ranking in the women’s tennis circuit. It was indeed a double dream come true for her, and I bet she’s on cloud nine right now. Agh, but if only Justine didn’t retire. So weird to see her presenting the Suzanne Lenglen trophy yesterday, instead of actually hoisting it in victory for the fourth consecutive time.

Next match: the most awaited final between the two tennis greats on clay once again.

Nadal or the FedExpress? Nadal.

UPDATE: Nadal crushed Federer! Totally lopsided! 6-0 at the third set, c’mon! Now I am set to say that Rafa will win 10 or more grand slams, only that it will all be French Open. Hehe, just kidding! Okey, thanks to Roland Garros Radio and ScoreTracker for keeping me updated, live, even if I’m here at the office! That’s pure awesomeness! Now I’m begging for a replay of the match on TV!

Kungfu Panda is super awesome to infinity. Totally liked it to bits. Too bad I wasn’t able to stay at the very end when the credits finished rolling because someone just said that there’s still a little scene left for viewers to see. Loved the line, “There’s no price for awesomeness… and attractiveness.” And yeah, though the film was comedic and animated at most parts, it still sent a very important and serious message to everyone: Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams. And don’t let others dictate who you should become in the future.

How about Narnia? Well, I enjoyed the first installment more. I would have enjoyed and understood it better if only I have read the series first. But still, it was a pleasant experience to watch once again the Pevensie children  travel back in time. This installment is also more action-packed and mushier, thanks to the addition of the Susan-Prince Caspian romance that according to my sources isn’t really included in the original story. Why Andrew Adamson, why? And Aslan, that freaking gigantic lion, how I missed seeing him!

Caregiver by Sharon Cuneta was also okay, your typical “pity-then-redemption” movie. But it really makes me sad how much our OFWs had to sacrifice just to earn higher salaries abroad. Imagine washing the feces off an elderly’s buttocks just to earn some pounds, or facing the loneliness of being away from home for years just to save enough finances for your family’s future. One particular line of Sharon’s character in that movie was right; most of the jobs of OFWs are “thankless” jobs.

Moving on, I badly want to watch Ploning. I heard that it was one of those Pinoy films that we all can be proud of. Go Juday, hehe! 21, that gambling movie starring Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe), was quite entertaining. Indiana Jones was so-so; the generation gap might have affected my feelings for it afterwards. But it was great to see Harrison Ford strutting his stuff even at his age, and the versatility of Cate Blanchett as an actress.

‘Til my next edition of inane film reviews.

Way too late post but yeah, Archie got Cooked. Question: Does Archie have asthma? He just gasps a lot. I even thought he would faint everytime the judges were over saying their fantastic remarks about him. And ouch, a difference of 12 million votes? Now that’s the problem of being overly praised by the judges, especially during the final showdown. Voters remained complacent without realizing that their own complacency eventually denied Archuleta the crown of being the youngest Idol so far, perhaps, ever. And oh, that Cowell was a freak, and I seriously cannot believe that he was getting paid millions of dollars for throwing those kinds of comments.  What increased his market value by that much anyway? His acerbic remarks? His line of high-cut clothing? His haircut? Ah, no. HIS ACCENT.

Congrats David Cook. I hope you won’t become the next Daughtry.

My LASIK surgery was successful. Praise the Lord, I can now live a normal life without wearing any glasses or contacts. It was quite costly, but it was definitely a worthy investment on my part. Anyway, we will all wear glasses someday once we grow super old, so why endure wearing one even if you’re still young? The whole process was so fast, it only took 10 minutes to laser both my eyes. And I can assure you guys that it was a totally painless procedure, and when I mean painless, I really mean zero pain at all. I also thank God for making the process of healing on both of my eyes so fast. It only took three days or so for the wound to be closed. Now I am allowed not to wear those protective sunglass goggles anymore!

As of latest check-up, my vision is currently at 20/15, from the previous 350 on both eyes. Hehe, the doctor said it exceeded the normal 20/20. But I was told not to worry because it will soon achieve 20/20 within 2 to 3 months. My general vision is currently fluctuating from quite blurry to semi-clear, but overall, I am so satisfied by the results. Thanks to all those gracious souls that prayed for me, and supported me before, during, and after the operation.

So the ever exciting presidential wrestling match (hehe) between Clinton and Obama was finally over. How groundbreaking it could have been if Hillary won the Democratic nod. I really feel sorry for the supporters of Clinton, especially those that were caught in camera really crying over her loss. Oh well, I guess people prefer Obama’s charisma to effect change, although he really has some great job ahead to do in order to unify the currently divisive Democratic party. But I am not totally taking sides here, okay. Philippines has more problems that I care more about than those of America. But still, this election is so freakin’ exciting to ignore. Besides, whoever president that will lead America will also affect our country because, hey, USA is a superpower nation! We are all interconnected, just in case some fail to realize!

Anyway, come to think of it: What if , after all this hype, Obama loses to McCain? You know, after all the wonderful rhetorics Obama has delivered, and the passionate chant of “WE WANT CHANGE” that I’ve always heard while I watch him on TV during his campaigns, I am already assuming that, as early as now, Obama is the most favored to win the election versus McCain. But what if he still loses?

Me thinks though that duh, why would USA even elect a septuagenarian candidate? Fine, great presidency isn’t defined by age but by one’s overall capacity to lead. BUT SERIOUSLY? McCain is so noble and all for being a war veteran, and I really, really appreciate the way he laughs, but uhmmm… I just believe America deserves something “fresh.” Hehe. But as I’ve said, I am not really taking sides (what a liar). McCain’s abilities to lead a nation has a great degree of credibility. And besides, his party is more unified than those of the Democrats. He had won the party nomination way, way earlier than Obama, and that gave him more time to prepare for the nationwide battle. Also, if you will compare his victory over his other Republican opponents to that of Obama’s victory, McCain’s more overwhelming.

Can Clinton ran again? McCain ran before right, only to lose the nomination ticket to Bush? As for Clinton’s concession from the race, I must say that I adored Clinton’s “surrender” speech. I believe it was really heartfelt, albeit painful, when she finally said that she was throwing all her efforts to elect Obama to the White House. Ah, what a brave and courageous woman she was! Her tenacity to hold on, even though winning is already a far-fetched goal, reminded me of the personality of the “Iron Lady”, Margaret Thatcher.

Haha, on the other note, I remembered when Obama was interviewed on a Jon Stewart show. You know how that guy fools around, right? Anyway, he asked Obama straightforwardedly this question (not in verbatim) in that particular episode: “Mr. Obama, admit to us right now, if ever you will win, WILL YOU BE PLANNING TO ENSLAVE THE WHITE RACE?”

Hahah, that question was really FTW!

Oh well, may the most deserving person win. And hopefully, after all this election madness and craziness, the eventual winner will truly mean his words. That’s what’s most important!

And as you probably have known by now, the Hillsong United concert totally rocked. AS IN. I was so blessed that night, and the thousands of others who attended it with me. I’ll never forget that day, like seriously. Praise God forever and ever.

‘Til next time.

Archuleta had vocal paralysis when he was younger kaya ganon ang talking voice nya. You don’t like Cook? Ba’t sabi mo “…WON’T be the next Daughtry”? And speaking of Daughtry, they’re coming to the Philippines noh! Sayang nga lang kasi wala na kami non heheheh…we’ll be going home to the place where we belong lol. The bodacity of Po is truly pure AWESOMENESS!!! If you’ve watched Nacho Libre, there’s a small part in Kung Fu na ginaya ang Nacho! :D

hi, hi, hi! after a week, binista ko ulit ang blog ko and whoa, grabe, ang dami kong mali sa grammar! hahaha… sori naman! so todo edit to the max ako… ah ganun ba? that’s the reason pala na parang lagi siyang out of breath or something. Okey si COOK for me… siya nga ang gusto kong manalo e kasi feeling ko nun e super praised etong si archuleta kaya super underdog siya nun. pati rin yung finale song na THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE, gusto ko rin… hehe, super-LSS.. pero i wrote na sana e “he won’t become the next daughtry” kasi I want him to be original and not follow daughtry’s footsteps. baka kasi maging “next daughtry” lang siya e di parang wala namang originality. ganun ko kasi nafo-foresee ang kanyang future career… mala pop-rock. yep, di lang si daughtry ang darating, pati ang LIFEHOUSE! OH DIBA! I am really a great fan of these two bands so super sure na a-attend ako ng concert na’to… am not really an avid concert goer before dahil mahal nga ang tickets, pero since Hillsong United, I’ll make it to a point na ‘wag nang palampasin ang mga bigating concerts… saka may work naman na ako kahit papaano to finance my concert adventures… hehehe… wish ko nga lang na dumating na ulit ang suweldo time, w/c is only once a month, para may pambili na ng tickets! ang mahal talaga to the max! niwei, see ya soon! super excited na akong makita ang iyong pagkatao… charosssss!

Wonderful blog site, Mr Blog King!

I haven’t read your blog entries in a long while and this was worth it!

So life for you now is different and new, with your job and school is out.
I praise you for being a dreamer and you will fulfil your dreams, maybe not soon, but someday! It’s not too far away.

Wala akong masabi sa subject tunkol sa politics! Whatever happens between them, ‘May the best person win.’

I didn’t know you had a laser eye surgery until now. It’s good that you had a speedy recovery and what’s best is that the procedure was pain free! Good-bye to your glasses, they’re history!

Thanks for the movie reviews! I would like to watch ‘Caregiver’ and ‘…Narnia:……………..’ haha, long title.

I hope for more wonderful and exciting things ahead!
